I thought he would provide some real proof. If he were debating his case, or in a court trial, he certainly would not win. He didn't really have much of a case, it was conjecture and assumption! It doesn't take much talent to assume, people do it every day.

I suspect anonymous didn't leave any feedback on 7-23 because they too were unimpressed by what he presented!

Great analysis. See John Meier's first volume of A Marginal Jew for a step-by-step breakdown. Forbes does a great job articulating the conclusion.

A very clear commentary. Perhaps Chris could also have mentioned the old eastern (Syriac??) text of Josephus which I understand supports a shorter original version of the disputed text; plus a comment by one of the Alexandrian church fathers circa 200AD (Clement or Origen)to the effect that Josephus spoke of Jesus negatively, which would support a less favourable original text.
