Kevin Rudd (Former Australian Prime Minister) comends the launch of CPX in 2007

Congratulations on the launch of the Centre for Public Christianity.
The Centre's establishment is a  welcome development in the spiritual and intellectual life of Australia. It has the potential to make a valuable contribution  to public debate in Australia -  in promoting  a better understanding of Christian  faith in the wider community, as well as promoting  greater engagement  with public life and culture by Australian Christians.

John Lennox (Professor of Mathematics, Oxford University)

It is often said that Christianity is not an option for anyone who wants to retain their intellectual self-respect.  You will discover how wrong this notion is by having a look at the wide range of incisive engagement with contemporary issues to be found on the CPX website.  I have learned a great deal from it myself.

Anne Robinson (Chair, World Vision Australia & Founder, Prolegis Lawyers)

There is just nothing like CPX anywhere. A collection of invaluable resources; inspiring and immensely stimulating debates with thought leaders in Australia and internationally; but more than that – concrete and practical encouragement to engage with our broader society confident in the calibre of the material and thinking behind it.

Sheridan Voysey (Media Commentator & Author)

From day one the CPX team has provided critically minded yet broadly accessible analysis, reflection and critique of contemporary religious issues. In this they play a unique role in influencing and challenging Australia's thought leaders.

Simon Pillar (Managing Director, Pacific Equity Partners)

I would like to endorse wholeheartedly the work of CPX. I believe it fulfils a critical role in Australia as a voice of authentic biblical Christianity in the public square. It can only play this role on the basis of an engagement with contemporary issues that is backed by intellectual rigour and integrity. This is what is unique and refreshing about it.

Paul Oslington (Professor of Economics, Australian Catholic University)

Over the last couple of years CPX has set a new standard for the public communication of Christianity in Australia. Their work is always attractively presented, based on solid scholarship, and done with an attitude of generous engagement with others. There is no trace of a sense of entitlement to be heard that mars a lot of other church contributions to public debate in Australia.

Rev Jeff Ware (Senior Chaplain, Barker College)

We continue to use material produced by the team at CPX with our students and seek to refer parents and former students to their website, because we have confidence that anything that comes from the CPX stable is going to be informed, gracious and well presented.

Gordon Menzies (Senior Lecturer in Economics, University of Technology, Sydney)

Perhaps most importantly, the relational tone of CPX is appropriate for this age. A genuine attempt is made to include sceptics' and unbelievers' responses, and the scene is set for respectful dialogue in religious matters. A rare, indeed unique, jewel in this cynical and reactionary age.

Alanna Nobbs (Head of Ancient History, Macquarie University)

I consult the CPX website regularly for my personal information, and also in my capacity at University, to give an informed opinion on events in the media. It is especially valuable to have a readily available, intelligent Christian perspective on news and current events.
