Gay marriage

God speaks to Gene Robinson and He told him that He approves of same-sex marriage. So when Gene was the first openly gay priest to be consecrated a Bishop in the Episcopalian Church in New Hampshire he had God on his side.

Formerly married with children, Bishop Robinson is now married to Andrew who together with him has weathered the storms of opposition and schism in the church, as well as death threats.

Now retired, Robinson will be working at the Centre for American Progress in Washington, but in this interview with Rachael he explains how scripture and history and God's love all support his view on gay marriage.

Opposing gay marriage today is an unpopular stance, but Dr John Dickson, Director of the Centre for Public Christianity argues that Christianity has always been countercultural in some important ways, and marriage is one of them.
