Life and Faith: Gendercide

'It's a Girl' reveals that in many parts of the world girls are killed for the crime of being female

In India, China and many other parts of the world today, girls are killed, aborted and abandoned simply because they are girls. The United Nations estimates as many as 200 million girls are missing in the world today because of this so-called “gendercide”. The documentary It's a Girl explores the phenomenon of unwanted girls, and speaks to global experts and grassroots activists who are fighting this profound injustice.

Simon Smart and Justine Toh discuss the film and speak to Melinda Tankard Reist about “gendercide”.
