Trap #2 - Living With The Consequences

Every decision carries a cost — whether immediate or delayed. All our choices affect us, others, and the world.

(Trap 2 of 5 from The Freedom Trap with Max Jeganathan)

Discussion Questions:
  1. How do we measure the true ‘cost’ of our choices? How do we evaluate the consequences?
  2. Can you think of a recent choice you made where choosing one thing meant missing out on something else?
  3. How long does it take for a choice to feel like it might have been the wrong one?
  4. Why do you think modern culture often encourages us to make fast decisions without reflecting on the impact?
  5. How do you decide whether something is “worth it”? What do you usually consider – time, money, how it makes you feel?
  6. How do advertisements and social media shape the way we evaluate what’s “worth it” or what we “deserve”?
  7. Do you think there’s a difference between what’s good for me now and what’s good for me in the long run? How do you tell the difference?
  8. Are there areas in your life where you’re starting to notice the hidden or delayed cost of certain habits or behaviours?
  9. How should your faith influence the way you weigh up the cost of your choices – not just for yourself, but for others?
  10. What might it look like to take the time to “count the cost” before making a big or small decision?
