On everyday violence

There’s all kinds of violence of which we’re all guilty of, day by day. Verbal violence – how often we say a cutting word to somebody, or make an impatient gesture or exclamation that can wound somebody in ways that last a lifetime. And that – we are all guilty of such violence … violent acts, day by day.
